MAYORAL’S WELCOME MESSAGE

HIS WORSHIP THE MAYOR – MR. AMON CHISENGA
behalf of Ndola City Council (NCC), I am delighted that you chose to visit our website and familiarize yourself with a local authority that is positioned in a thriving provincial capital and was founded on the principles of responsible leadership, planning, sense of public service and economic liberalization.
Over 100 years after having been established as an administrative centre for the British South Africa Company in 1904, the city has continued to capture the hearts and attention of many visitors and investors. Infrastructural developments taking shape such as the construction of Kafubu Mall, Dola Hill Project and the coming of one of the largest cement plants by Dagonte remind us of how great our city is and the strides it has taken to restore its position as the industrial and distributive hub that it once was.
Our visitor facilities include amongst others the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola Brewery and other historical monuments of cultural significance such as Dag Hammarskjold Memorial Site, Copperbelt Museum, The Chichele Mofu Tree and The Mukuyu Slave Tree. I urge you to sample some of these touristic attractions and walk in the paths of the people whose journeys led to the story of Ndola.
Above of all, as a local authority we continue to make improvements in many areas of our service delivery and winning 1st Prize in both best exhibit in service and regulatory organization at the 2012, Zambia International Trade Fair, confirms our commitment to serving our people effectively and efficiently. Another addition to this obligation is our service charter that is a requirement for each of our departments that sets the pace at which each one should fulfill the expected service standards and further testifies our promise to you.
It is without a doubt that we will continue to do what we know best; innovate and respond to a world that is ever changing so that we carry on making you proud residents of our beautiful city, Ndola.
