TOWN CLERKS WELCOME MESSAGE
As the facilitator, regulator and service provider, Ndola City Council has responded to the needs of our economy and our communities by having the right developmental projects in place. It is gratifying to note that in the last few years the city of Ndola has turned around its fortunes and revealed its economic potential in significant key areas of manufacturing, agriculture, forestry, transportation and mining.
Nothing illustrates this better than who we are, where we have come from and where we intend to go from here. Even before the experience of the railway line in 1910 and the discovery of copper deposits the aspiration to build this city and take it to greater heights was a deeply felt need by the British South African Company that established Ndola as an administrative centre. Therefore, as a local authority we have been tasked with too great a responsibility to lose sight of the dreams and vision of where our history began in 1904 at what is now Ndola Golf Club.
In a city that is endowed with so much wealth that encompasses land, touristic sites, limestone and copper reserves we will continue to rekindle the hope to forge ahead economically and add sufficient impetus to the efforts of maintaining our position as the industrial, commercial and distributive centre.
One thing is clear though, strengthening service delivery is a legitimate aim of the local authority but it is also the responsibility of all to ensure that garbage is disposed of in designated areas, painting of buildings is incorporated in the corporate social responsibility agenda in addition to timely payment of bills be it rates, billboards, parking and bus levies or therein joining us in the drive towards a cleaner and healthier city, “Keep Ndola Clean and Healthy Campaign”.
Moreover, we have never needed you more and there is still much to be done in our city so partner with us and let us build the city of Ndola. I urge you all to get concerned….. get Involved.
I thank you for your support.
